10 More / Less Worksheet

Image
This week's free worksheet is: 10 more / less.  It has been a couple of months since I posted a worksheet but I have created one that I would like to share with you today 😀. Hopefully, you will find this resource useful and it will aid your child's learning.  10 more / less is an activity that kids in grade 1 / 2 can attempt and for those in the UK this is a great activity for kids in year 2 / 3 to attempt. Depending on the ability of your child and their progress in their learning you can determine if this is an appropriate activity. I It is always a great idea to ensure you are aware of ,before the school year starts, what your child will be covering in the academic year. I would recommend having a discussion with your child's teacher and see if they can provide a simple list of topics they hope to cover in the classroom in that school year, if you are a teacher then it would be beneficial for you, the child and the parent to share the list of topics that will be covered...

Odd & Even Activity Sheet

Image
This weeks worksheet is: Odd or Even Free Printable! Kids in kindergarten, Year 1, Grade 1 tend to learn this as part of their learning at school so this worksheet can be used either in a school setting as it is a fun activity where kids can demonstrate their understanding. It can also be used at home to facilitate a child's learning. Making sure that you are keeping learning going at home with quick activity sheets is important for a child's learning especially during holidays where kids can tend to forget a lot of material. That's why doing some regular activity ensures that children retain the knowledge they have learned and are constantly learning even outside of a school environment.  Odd or Even Activity Sheet: The sheet only covers numbers till 20 but it still allows a child to show that they understand what is even and what is odd. Kids can either circle of colour the right answer and this makes the sheet really quick to do so perfect for a 5 minute learning sessi...

Number Line Addition Sheets

Image
Hey guys!!  Welcome back to another printable worksheet! One of the most popular worksheets on this blog has been the number line subtraction worksheet- it has had a lot of attention and interest so I thought I would add a number line addition worksheet to the blog as well. I think what most people found valuable was an explanation worksheet where I explained using the number line as well as give the child an opportunity to practice before they attempted the practice worksheet with lots of questions.  That is exactly what I will be doing for the addition worksheets: you will find below both an  introduction/ explanation sheet and a practice worksheet. With both of these worksheets and all of the worksheets in my blog they are all A4 size but you can copy the worksheet into word and adjust to the size you would like to print it out to. Or when you print it adjust the printer settings on your computer so that it prints to the size you want and all the information fits on...

Shape Symmetry

Image
Hi guys, so today's worksheet is all about shape symmetry. The sheet is going to be incredibly helpful in helping your child or if you are teacher then the kids in your class learn all about symmetry. It is a simple explanation worksheet that you can work together with the child to introduce the concept and explain with clarity what is meant by 'symmetry'. The worksheet has clear examples with clear explanations that describe how we draw a line of symmetry through which the concept of symmetry is explained. There is also a section for practice to further establish the concept strongly within the child's mind and give deeper understanding. Including some activities for the child to take part in within the worksheet was important to me as I want them to have fun whilst learning.  As well as this I have tried to make it very concise since it can quite quickly become boring when there's lots to read on a page and lots of written explanation. Using an example helped to ...

So let's have a look at the worksheets: Worksheet #1: this matching up exercise is a great warm up activity to get the kids brains going and its something that will work on their counting skills as well their knowledge of what the number is written as. I really like this she...

Single Digit Maths Colouring Sheets For KS1

Image
The sheets below are activities that kids in KS1 particularly in Year 1 can do to help practice mathematical content that they learn at school. These activities are simple and can be done quickly at home or in school to check understanding and to re-visit topics to strengthen understanding and techniques. 1: Colour in the right answer (single-digit addition and subtraction).  Simple sheets are a perfect way to do quick understanding check and practice what has been previously learnt. I think this is super fun because you can do so many different things: colour, stickers, glitter, paint and more to make this as interesting as you can for the child so they enjoy it.  As it is so simple and clear it makes sure that the child is focused on the key thing instead of too much going on which they can get distracted and overwhelmed by. Hopefully, this is useful and valuable for the child.  2: Colour in the number that comes next.  This activity helps kids better understand th...

1-10 Number Line Subtraction Sheets

Image
Subtraction is something kids learn quite early on in their learning journey, these resources have been made to both introduce the concept of subtraction and number line whilst also helping the kid practice. The sheets are simple and easy so can be used at home, school or a learning centre.  I have also posted addition worksheet  that you can check out here ! Sheet #1  This sheet helps kids to understand how a number line is used, you can use this sheet as a resource to teach how to subtract using the number line.  This can be used as a complementary teaching resource, so when you are explaining in class maybe you could use this sheet so the kids have it as something they can look at to help them understand the steps when they practice themselves perhaps using the sheet down below.  It is also a fantastic resource to use at home when going over or introducing the concept to your child instead of having to have lots of tools to teach it to your kid- these two wor...

Learning Shapes Practice Sheets

Image
The worksheets you will find in this post are: shapes colouring sheets shapes tracing sheet shape learning sheet Each of the sheets are in an A4 format but you can also print in a letter format, just change the format you want to print in on your computer before printing. To print the worksheets click on the worksheets, save them and print it from your computer.  Each of the sheets is a quick activity so it can be done as a quick learning exercise but you should revisit the worksheets to continue the child's learning as that is the best way for children to learn. Children need to be taught a concept or a topic a few times before they can understand and remember it so having a go at the worksheets a couple of times will help the child to process and grasp what they are learning. Colouring Sheet This is a fun activity for the child to do whilst also learning their shapes, you can sit with the child and complete the sheet with them. Whilst they are colouring you can discuss the shapes...
