The sheets below are activities that kids in KS1 particularly in Year 1 can do to help practice mathematical content that they learn at school. These activities are simple and can be done quickly at home or in school to check understanding and to re-visit topics to strengthen understanding and techniques. 1: Colour in the right answer (single-digit addition and subtraction).  Simple sheets are a perfect way to do quick understanding check and practice what has been previously learnt. I think this is super fun because you can do so many different things: colour, stickers, glitter, paint and more to make this as interesting as you can for the child so they enjoy it.  As it is so simple and clear it makes sure that the child is focused on the key thing instead of too much going on which they can get distracted and overwhelmed by. Teach your little one how to write their letter A with these easy and quick worksheets. The first worksheet is all about helping them to learn the shape and get familiar with the way it looks and how to trace it.  With both of the sheets as they're nice and plain you can definitely add your own touch and make it fun for the child by for example getting them to either colour or use different writing tools such as markers for example. You can also have a reward system where if they do the first row really slowly and try and get it as accurate as they can then they get a reward.  So, making it fun however you do is going to make learning for you child so much more fun and enjoyable that they would want to do more.  When kids enter KS1 especially Year 2 they start to learn about connectives and how to use them in their sentences to make them more interesting. The connective worksheet is a great way for kids who have been introduced to connectives and understand what they are to get a practice at using them and check their understanding. The sentences are quite simple so that it just checks whether kids understand which connective is appropriate to use and also to show they understand what each connective means and how it fits into the sentence. A good idea might be to have the child explain why they used that particular connective instead of the other ones and this will to identify whether the child has a strong understanding of connectives and if they require further support and practice.  Just like all of my worksheets I have aimed to make this one as simple and clear as possible because, as I have stated in a previous blog post, I want the kids to be engaged for the entire time they are doing
