Writing Letters: Letter A Worksheets

Teach your little one how to write their letter A with these easy and quick worksheets. The first worksheet is all about helping them to learn the shape and get familiar with the way it looks and how to trace it.

With both of the sheets as they're nice and plain you can definitely add your own touch and make it fun for the child by for example getting them to either colour or use different writing tools such as markers for example. You can also have a reward system where if they do the first row really slowly and try and get it as accurate as they can then they get a reward.

So, making it fun however you do is going to make learning for you child so much more fun and enjoyable that they would want to do more. That's why you should make even the simplest tasks creative and exciting.

Maybe you could ask them for any ideas on how they would like to make it fun?!

Worksheet #1: Trace inside letter

This sheet has a big letter A that your little one can trace around and if you laminate it then they can trace around it multiple times using a whiteboard pen to just practice.

Worksheet #2:

Writing Practice Sheet, you can do the same as I recommended with the sheet above- laminate the sheet and your kid can use the sheet multiple times without having to print a lot of copies or rubbing out the pencil marks.

You can make completing this sheet more fun for the child by getting them to use different writing mediums:

  • crayons
  • marker
  • glitter pen
  • paint
  • glue stick and put some glitter on top?
There are many ways you can get your child to be creative with this worksheet so they can have fun whilst practicing their letter A.

I will be putting out worksheets for all the letters and will combine them into one post but for now we have the letter A writing practice worksheet. These are quick and easy to use at home or in school just to get the little ones a little more familiar with writing their letters, I will post smaller letters as well to go along with the capital ones. The good thing with the printable sheets is that you can print and use them as many times as you like or your child needs to use them.
