Single Digit Maths Colouring Sheets For KS1

The sheets below are activities that kids in KS1 particularly in Year 1 can do to help practice mathematical content that they learn at school. These activities are simple and can be done quickly at home or in school to check understanding and to re-visit topics to strengthen understanding and techniques.

1: Colour in the right answer (single-digit addition and subtraction).

Simple sheets are a perfect way to do quick understanding check and practice what has been previously learnt. I think this is super fun because you can do so many different things: colour, stickers, glitter, paint and more to make this as interesting as you can for the child so they enjoy it.

As it is so simple and clear it makes sure that the child is focused on the key thing instead of too much going on which they can get distracted and overwhelmed by. Hopefully, this is useful and valuable for the child.

2: Colour in the number that comes next.

This activity helps kids better understand the order of numbers from 1-10 and it allows them to identify the next number in the sequence. Being able to put numbers in order and in a sequence is part of the KS1 curriculum so this sheet will assist with working on that criteria.

3. Colour in the number that matches the word.

A part of the Year 1 curriculum is being able to read and write both the numeral and the word so this is a great simple exercise to help the kids relate the word to the number from 1-10. It is also a great exercise that will help kids recognise the words and how the number they pronounce is spelt.

I really like these sheets as they are nice and simple and give plenty of practice on a particular topic, they are a great way to help kids with their learning in the home as its quick activity they can do.

I hope that these sheets are useful to you in helping your little ones in their learning.

This contains worksheets ranging in levels of difficulty from matching numbers to visuals to completing single-digit addition problems. The pack is a great way to help your child build their knowledge and skill from numbers to single digit addition, this will make their learning stronger by working through bitesize worksheets that build onto one another and help the child master 1-10 addition.
