Odd & Even Activity Sheet

This weeks worksheet is: Odd or Even Free Printable!

Kids in kindergarten, Year 1, Grade 1 tend to learn this as part of their learning at school so this worksheet can be used either in a school setting as it is a fun activity where kids can demonstrate their understanding. It can also be used at home to facilitate a child's learning. Making sure that you are keeping learning going at home with quick activity sheets is important for a child's learning especially during holidays where kids can tend to forget a lot of material. That's why doing some regular activity ensures that children retain the knowledge they have learned and are constantly learning even outside of a school environment.

Odd or Even Activity Sheet:

The sheet only covers numbers till 20 but it still allows a child to show that they understand what is even and what is odd. Kids can either circle of colour the right answer and this makes the sheet really quick to do so perfect for a 5 minute learning session at home. If it is being done at school then the kids can do their sheets and discuss with a partner their answer or they can even cut out the numbers and put the even numbers in one pile and odd in another.

Active Learning Ideas:

Active learning is when kids do something with the information instead of just reading it so by circling or colouring the right answer the kids are doing something with the information but there are some ideas listed below for addition active learning ideas kids can do to really help them grasp the concept.

1. Write a list of numbers other than 1-20 and put it in either a odd or even pile: so either you can write the numbers or get the child to write the numbers then have them place it into two piles: odd or even.

2. Explain why they have chosen the answer they have: after the sheet has been completed the child can go over which ones they have said are odd or even and why. This helps to check whether the child has understood the concept strongly. Also, being able to verbalise concepts makes the knowledge more stronger in a child's mind.

Further Resources:

Below I have recommended further resources you can check out to help your child with their learning!

As I mentioned earlier that kids can fall behind when they come back to school after holidays because they have not had kept up a consistent learning schedule and continuing to practice what they have learnt at school. So, either parents can use this at home to keep track of what topics the child is covering at home and to ensure that everything that was covered in class is being practiced at home. It is also a great resource for teachers to give to parents as a way for them to see all the topic that were covered in school and perhaps highlight which ones should be a particular focus for the child during the holiday so they come back stronger and improved in their learning instead of having to catch up again.

These worksheets are excellent to help kids with their writing practice and build their writing skills. There are multiple sheets and the activities increase in independence. The sheets are to be printed at home and are a size A4 but you can adjust to another size using printer settings on your device.

That is all for this post today! If you have any recommendations then please put them in the comments down below.
