Multiplying By 2

The simple activity sheets below are an awesome way to help your child practice multiplying by 2, there are two sheets: an introduction and one to that is slightly more activity focused. By breaking the learning down this way you can focus on one sheet at a time so that is not too much being done at once.

As I have mentioned before in my posts that its more efficient to learn and teach in bitesize pieces as it allows to process the information and to practice couple of times before moving onto another topic or concept.

Introduction Sheet:

This sheet is an excellent way to break down what multiplying by two or doubling is. Visuals are used alongside clear language so that the child is able to understand what is going on when we multiply by two or double. I really like how the information is broken down into steps and various ways to explain are used to ensure 100% understanding by the child.

Activities are also included to give the child a chance to engage with what is going on, also by doing something with the information aids with strong grasp of the knowledge being taught. You can also work through the sheet with the child, this gives them an opportunity to ask any questions if there is something they are not sure about.

It is an extremely detailed and well-explained worksheet to assist teaching the child what multiplying by two means and is as well as how it is done.

Activity Sheet:

After the child has gone through the introduction sheet which gives them an introduction to the knowledge this worksheet acts as an exercise for them to practice what they have learnt. Practicing is an important part of learning and helps with getting to grips to what is going on as they work through it step-by-step.

I wanted to include different activities for the kids so that they can have various exercises which both keeps them interested for longer and challenges them to see if they can still apply the knowledge in different scenarios after having mastered one activity. It is important to have  multiple activities as it really tests whether the child has fully and truly understood the information and can apply it to a range of problems.

I really like how these turned out and hope that you guys as well as the kids who use the worksheets find them useful. It is an excellent way to help the child learn the concept without overwhelming them or making it too complicated rather taking it a step at a time.

To keep a track of all the learning and topics that the child is learning the progress tracker below is a great resource. It helps to keep the child's learning organised and is a fantastic resource to make sure that you track the confidence of the child's ability of the respective topic. Another great way it can be used is to allow the child to score or express how they feel about a certain topic after they attempt it each time. This way you can focus on the challenging topics and have clarity around what needs more attention. The progress tracker is available in my etsy shop, click the tracker to find out more ๐Ÿ˜€

I will be adding more sheets to this over time but I thought I would post these two for now. So, keep a look out for some more worksheets on here.

Until next time! ๐Ÿ‘‹
